I finally gave in and took London to get her first haircut, just a few months shy of her third birthday. The girl that cut it said I should have done it much sooner. She loved it and has been asking me constantly if she can go get her haircut again. Here are a few pics of our day. It was fun!

Revelation and Christmas

Over the last few days and weeks I’ve wished I was spending more time reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas, spending time in the Word pouring over the Christmas story, all the things that I like to do this time of year. The Lord showed me something new and I couldn’t resist sharing it here!

Our small group has been studying the book of Revelation over the last 3 months and it has been an incredible learning time for me personally. As I was sitting thinking that I should be spending more time reflecting on Christmas, God reminded me that He has been showing me glimpses of the Christmas story these last few weeks through Revelation. This book is an amazing finish to the entire story of God’s word. There are so many things from Genesis to Revelation that show the fullness of Scripture. Christ’s birth is of course a big part of the plan…God’s redemptive plan! Studying the end has been a very cool new perspective for me on God sending Christ here as a baby. I could share so many things, but there are a few scriptures that have been on my mind these last few days concerning the birth of our King.

John 1:1-2 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.” (NAS)

John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (NAS)

Here is the cool part…Revelation 19 tells of the coming of Christ…calling Him “Faithful and True” and says, “And He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood; and His name is called The Word of God.” (19:13)

And in Revelation 21:3, “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He shall dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God himself will be among them…”

If you’re still with me, Christ, the Word of God, came here and dwelt among us, and Christ, the Word of God is coming again, and will dwell among us, and we will see His face and we will know His name, and His glory will be such that there won’t be a need for day or night!

Jesus, the tiny baby we celebrate this week, is coming again for us. God’s big redemptive plan set in motion by sending Jesus…The Word of God.

Here comes Santa Claus

We’ve come a long way in a year as far as the visit to Santa goes! There weren’t any tears this year or nervous girls…they loved everything about Santa and keep asking to go back and see him again tomorrow. We wrote a quick letter to him before our visit so the girls could give him their “list.” It was so fun watching how excited they were. What a fun age!! And next year Graham will be old enough to be scared…haha!

Graham turns 7 weeks old tomorrow and is a cute little chubby baby! His sisters are so good at loving on him too. I survived my first set of days while Steve was away working and actually took all 3 to the grocery store and still came out sane. Ha! It felt like some type of rite of passage.

Thankful

Mary Peyton had a school Thanksgiving feast that we all got to go and enjoy. Her class sang a few little songs and learned all about the first Thanksgiving. It was fun watching her with her new friends and thrive in her new school setting.

Stuart had a long holiday break and came over to meet Graham for the first time. We enjoyed having him here for a few days and the girls always love having a new playmate in the house. We missed being with all of our MS family this holiday season so it was nice having a little visit!

and of course you can always find someone in our house rocking a baby, changing a diaper, putting on a band-aid, giving baths, making something to eat for some little hungry ones, picking up dirty laundry…but these are the days we are thankful for. We are worn out and weary with hearts full of gratitude for our 3 little miracles and the ways God is providing for us and loving us.

Happy 4th Birthday MP!

I can’t believe we have a 4 year old in the house! Actually, I can’t believe we have a 4 year old, a 2 1/2 year old, and a newborn! ha! MP has been celebrating her birthday for over a month now with a Veggie Tales party in late September, a class celebration at her preschool, and a special family day on her actual birthday. London has been very patient with her considering that MP has had a birthday for a month and she is ready for her own. We finally bought them both balloons, treats, and let them both blow out cupcakes to keep everyone happy. MP, we love you. You are so much fun and a little blessing in our house every day!

Welcome Graham Whitmore Knox

We got to meet our sweet little man last Monday, October 10 around 3:00pm. His delivery went so smoothly. We had great nurses and our great doctor all pulling for us. He was 8 lbs. 5 oz. 21 inches long and beautiful. (Steve says we’ve got to find new words to describe him since he is a boy!) But really, he couldn’t be more perfect. Steve and I on the other hand are far less than perfect when it comes to changing little guy’s diapers. It took us at least until night 3 to not have to change all his clothes, blankets, and sheet every time he woke up! Steve looked at me the other day and said, “Can you believe that now there are more of them than us?” Haha! No, I can’t believe it either. We are so blessed and thankful beyond words.
