April is coming!

24 01 2009

Steve and I went to the doctor this week for my 28 week check up! We had great news that all was looking good. When we were getting ready to walk out the door the dr. reminded us that we now we start coming every 2 weeks. My only thought was, “Already??!” This pregnancy seems to be flying by. Really, we only have about 11 weeks left. We are so excited about our new baby girl’s arrival. We are also trying to treasure our time with Mary Peyton everyday as we know things around our house will be changing quickly.

A  friend from high school just lost her 4 month old baby this week from an illness she had at birth, Trisomy 18. Their faith and God’s mercy are sustaining them. It’s been incredible for me to read and hear about how they are doing. It has made me so thankful for life and has helped me realize how precious life really is…as well as how sweet God’s mercy and grace can be. You can read their story from our blog, Noah and Julie Roberts.

We are looking forward with anticipation what the next few weeks and months will hold for us. Excited to continue to see God work.

Christmas 2008

4 01 2009

Did it really happen? I think that is how we feel around our house. The tree was up and down again in a matter of weeks. We saw so many friends and family at such a fast pace, that I can hardly keep up with all we did. We did have great visits and made some great memories, but I must say that Christmas with a 14 month old is way different than any we’ve had before. I’m sure next year with another little one, I’ll be saying the same thing!

Mary Peyton may or may not have known it was Christmas. She didn’t really get into opening gifts, but definitely has some new fun toys she can play with! I travelled with her by myself for 7 hours to Mississippi to be with my family while Steve had to stay home and work. It was an adventure for us, and I feel like I accomplished something huge by doing it, but won’t do it again unless I have to. Steve came and rescued us after Christmas and drove us home! It gave me some much needed rest.

We celebrated with my mom and new family on that side, my dad, my extended Nowell family, and then travelled home to celebrate with Steve’s family. And of course, because of a certain little one we were chasing all the time, I didn’t even unpack the camera or video camera from the car. Maybe Mom or Dad will send me pictures:) I do have a couple of our time here at home before we took our road trip and a few of Steve and I before we left MS! Happy 2009!
